Which fish are the best sources for omega 3 fatty acids

Organic-Wild caught-Kosher-Best Delivery system for Omega3/COQ10 supplements! Recommended by Dr.Michael Hytros Integrative medicine as the best source with the highest efficacy.

ALL FISH ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL

In the 1970s, the demand for fish began to outstrip what we could reasonably catch. Public awareness of the health benefits exacerbated the shortage, and (forgive the pun!) spawned a tremendous expansion in aquaculture and fish farming.

Dr. Chilton?s laboratory has recently shown that certain aspects of tilapia nutrition, including the omega 3 and omega 6 ratios would generally be considered by the scientific community and doctors as detrimental. This paper was published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association in 2008.

The problem with tilapia nutrition is what the fish are eating. Omega 3 levels in tilapia are so low because Tilapia are incredibly hardy, which means that you can feed them just about anything as a fat source. What we?re feeding them is corn oil, or soy, or whatever the cheapest commodity is at the time, packed with short-chain omega 6 fats that they convert to the dangerous long-chain omega-6 fats (AA). Normally herbivore fish eat algae, which contain medium-chain omega 3 fats that they convert to the very beneficial long chain omega 3s including EPA and DHA. Carnivorous fish then eat those fish as their source of omega 3 fats.

All this is taking place unbeknownst to most consumers. Without knowing which fish to avoid, the general population is likely to purchase the fish (a) that is most readily available at the supermarket, or (b) that costs the least. Farmed tilapia, unfortunately, dominates both categories.

Reason #9:

SLOWS the Production of FAT in Your LIVER

9
Your liver performs a lot of functions to keep you healthy and well.
One of those functions is lipogenesis ? or the production of fat in your liver.
In simple terms, your body produces a protein carrier that brings nutrients into your liver with the sole purpose of making fat in the form of triglycerides.
Long story short, DHA and EPA are important in slowing this production down.
How?
They have been shown to reduce the activity of a specific protein ? called mitochondrial tricarboxylate carrier ? and the lipogenic enzymes responsible for producing fat in your liver.
Is there a better way to take in nutritional supplements to improve your health? YES THERE IS. Medical health professionals backed up by controlled clinical studies support the fact that Transdermal Patches are a SUPERIOR delivery method for taking dietary supplements.
Transdermal means "through the skin", or dermus, delivering nutritional supplementation directly into bloodstream using transdermal time-release formula patches that are specially coated with various nutritional supplement formulas using a proprietary process.

What happens when you swallow your supplements

The dietary supplements travel to your stomach, where they are immediately introduced to a powerful mix of digestive acids. Depending on what other foods you've eaten, the supplements in you stomach remain there for up to 4 hours as part of the normal digestive process. During this process the supplements in the stomach continue to be degraded by powerful digestive stomach acids.
After approximately 4 hours, the remaining supplements' nutrient value starts its journey into the small intestinal tract where it will be absorbed into the bloodstream and delivered throughout the body. Studies have shown that on the average, less than 10% of the original dietary supplement taken survives the digestive process, dramatically reducing the dosage you originally swallowed.

What happens when you use transdermal patches for delivery Of dietary supplements

You apply a patch on the skin (the inner/out arm and shoulder or hip are most common places to wear patches).
The moment a patch is applied, body-heat activates the supplement formula and the nutrients begin to transit through the skin into the small blood vessels called capillaries that are plentiful under the skin. This is direct delivery of nutrients to the bloodstream or what is called Transdermal Delivery because nutrients are absorbed directly through pores in the Derma (skin).
Becuase the nutrient delivery process is done over a period of many hours while a patch is worn, we call this "Time-Release Delivery".  Health Flex's various patch formulas all offer a ?time-release delivery? that is absolutely optimized for each unique patch. This allows for maximum absorption and health benefits. This type of Direct-To-Bloodstream delivery simply can't be achieved with supplements taken orally.

The advantages of patches summarized

  • Maximum Dosage Absorption - Patches allow you to absorb up to 10 times the dosage that comparable orally taken supplements deliver.
  • Patches release nutritional supplement ingredients directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the harsh acidic environment of the stomach and digestive tract that destroys most of the original nutrient value of supplements taken orally.
  • Patches deliver their nutritional supplement load directly to the bloodstream the moment a patch is applied to the skin, versus up to 4 hours with supplements taken orally that must pass through the stomach and digestive system.
  • Incredible convenience ? people find there is noting easier than applying a patch before bedtime or in the morning after showering, instead of having to remember to take multiple pills day after day.
  • COQ10  is critical for mitochndrial health and is a perfect adjunct to Omega-3s Save $24.50 and get a free months supply
  • COQ10 energizes cells and helps to prevent oxidative damage from free radicals in low-density lipoprotein (LDL). In essence, CoQ10 is important for proper function of the cells in our bodies and also acts as a scavenger for damaging free radicals. According to the Harvard School of Public Health, these protective and supportive activities of CoQ10 are especially beneficial for heart function and the prevention of some illnesses. We use 100% Ubiquinol COQ10 which is active form COQ10.
    8
    Rea8son #8:Potent Inflammation Fighter
Inflammation ? which is being labeled as the next ?silent? killer ? may be present in your body, wreaking havoc with your cells and organs.
And the sad fact is: you may not even know that your insides are suffering from this harmful, chronic, type of inflammation.
Chronic inflammation ?which starts by damage from free radicals or from the byproduct of normal cellular functioning ? is seldom painful and most of the time you have no idea it?s even there (unless you have a CRP test ordered by your doctor).
When inflammation is present ? and does not shut down ? then damage occurs to the cells and organs in your body.
And if you have higher inflammation levels, then you may suffer from anything from diabetes, metabolic syndrome, or even arthritis (all forms).
Now, fruits and vegetables have been associated with lower inflammation levels, due to the high antioxidant capacity they carry.
But guess what? Omega-3s contain powerful antioxidants that may also reduce your inflammation levels!
In fact, another study done on omega-3s shows it is effective at reducing inflammation levels AND reducing some common pain symptoms associated with arthritis (more in a minute).
Here?s what they found:
By supplementing the participant?s diet with transdermal omega-3s and COQ10, there was a 19.3 percent DECREASE in CRP levels (test for inflammation).
After 14 and 30 days, the results were even better!
They showed that krill oil reduced CRP levels by 29.7 and 30.9 percent respectively!
The study showed that Omega-3s may significantly inhibit inflammation within a short treatment period of 7 and 14 days.

Reason #7:

NO ADVERSE Health Reactions

7
As you may or may not know, fish oil may contain harmful toxins, such as mercury, PCB?s, and others, that may create adverse health conditions.
Mainly, this is due to the type(s) of fish that go into your everyday fish oil.
And, some fish oil creates other reactions that may prevent the user from experiencing all the benefits due to having to stop taking the pills.
Although this may ring true with you, Transdermal patches  may not adversely affect your health or safety.
Why?
The source of our Omega -3s- Krill
First, since Krill are at the bottom of the food chain, they are often eaten first. This could prevent them from consuming sources of toxins, they eat foods such as plants, algae, and others.Larger fish such as Salmon and Tuna at the top of the food chain consume fish that can have the mercury and toxins.
This in turn may lower the amount of harmful toxins present in the oil, therefore reducing your risk for ingesting those toxins.
Secondly, one study showed, people who consumed krill oil, showed no adverse health reactions or encountered any other safety related variables.

Reason #6:

Contains More FREE DHA and EPA (good for your body)

6
Now, in the previous section, you learned how the chemical structure of Krill oil differs from that of fish oil.
And, you also learned that this change, how the EPA and DHA are bound, makes a very big difference in how your body processes the EPA and DHA.
You also found that Krill oil results in a significant increase in your plasma DHA and EPA.
And there is a reason why?
One study showed that 22 percent of the EPA contained in krill oil was FREE and that 21 percent of the DHA was also FREE compared to fish oil, which contained NO FREE DHA or EPA!
The study also noted that the highest incorporation of DHA and EPA into the plasma phospholipids came from the Krill oil as opposed to fish oil.
Here?s what they said about Krill oil:
?The unexpected high content of free DHA and EPA in krill oil, might have a significant influence on the availability of DHA + EPA from Krill oil.?

Reason #5:

Better Absorbed By YOUR Body

5
Although both contain EPA and DHA, one may be superior than the other when it comes to bioavailable levels of them.
Although fish oil contains high doses of EPA and DHA, the structure of the oil makes it hard for your body to process and absorb the fats ? which results in more of those potent fats being excreted by your body.
On the other hand, the DHA and EPA found in Krill oil are bound by a phospholipid backbone!
And since most of the cells on your body contain phospholipids in their cell membranes, it makes it easier for the DHA and EPA to be processed and absorbed by your body.
In fact, in one study, after just four weeks of supplementation with two grams a day of Krill oil, the results showed a significant increase in DHA and EPA concentrations.
Their conclusions: ?4 weeks of Krill oil supplementation increased plasma EPA and DHA.?

Reason #4:

Same Results as Fish Oil ? But With LESS!

4
There is a lot of debate to the effectiveness of Krill oil as opposed to fish oil due to the levels of EPA and DHA found in Krill oil.
Let?s put the debate to rest!
Although there are lower levels of DHA and EPA when compared to fish oil, the krill oil may be just as effective ? if not MORE effective ? than fish oil, even with the lower levels.
In one study, they gave participants a Krill oil supplement (543 mg of EPA and DHA) or a fish oil supplement (864 mg of DHA and EPA) daily for seven weeks.
They found significant increases in blood levels of DHA, EPA, and DPA in both groups?
But it?s their conclusion that sums it up:
?Krill and fish oil thus represent comparable dietary sources of EPA and DHA (omega-3 fatty acids), even if the EPA + DHA dose in the Krill oil was 62.8 percent of that in the fish oil.?
As you can see, although Krill oil may contain less EPA and DHA compared to fish oil, it is still very effective ? even at the lower dose ? to raise blood levels of EPA and DHA ? therefore protecting your heart health.

Reason #3:

Increased HDL Cholesterol

3
As you know, HDL cholesterol ? also known as high-density lipoproteins ? may provide protection to your heart.
And that is one of the reasons why doctors recommend eating fatty fish at least THREE (if not more) times a week, eat nuts like almonds, flax, and others, and exercise in order to boost your HDL levels.
However, Krill oil, on the other hand, contains the SAME DHA and EPA, but at lower doses.
Although they are at lower doses, they may be more available for use by your body (more on this next!)
A recent study shows that Krill oil ? even at the lower dose ? was effective at RAISING HDL cholesterol levels when compared to fish and olive (control) oil treatment groups.

Reason #2:

Lowers Triglycerides

2
Triglycerides- which are fats circulating in your blood ? have been linked to an increased risk for heart disease.
And doctors recommend lowering your levels in order to protect your most valuable possession ? your heart.
Some ways they recommend to lower your triglyceride levels: you should avoid high levels of refined carbohydrates, perform moderate exercise, and commonly prescribed, is the use of EPA/DHA supplements, but only from an ultra-pure source like Omega K Krill Oil.

Reason #1:

Lowers Total and LDL Cholesterol

1
High total and LDL cholesterol have been a source of concern for many doctors, cardiologists, and health care professionals.
The fear: Higher total and LDL cholesterol may increase your risk for developing heart disease, stiffening of your arteries, or the development of harmful plaque buildup.
And this has led them to make recommendations to lower both your total and LDL cholesterol levels.
One way that doctors recommend lowering your numbers is by eating fatty fish (salmon) at least THREE days per week or by taking a fish oil supplement.
But what they don?t know ? and what they will LOVE ? is that Krill oil may be more effective at lowering both total and LDL cholesterol.
In fact, one study shows, by taking one to one-and-a-half OR two to three grams of Krill oil per day, was able to LOWER TOTAL and LDL cholesterol when compared to a three gram dose of fish oil.
The conclusion: The results of this present study demonstrate within high levels of confidence that krill oil is effective for the management of hyperlipidemia by significantly reducing total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels.

Posted by Thomas Bern, London UK on 4th Feb 2013
I started using these patches instead of my fish oil pills and the difference in my health is quite noticeable. I was skeptical since the dosage is less on the patches than in the pills I was taking, but I am absorbing virtually all of the nutrients in the patch which is what makes the difference. Awesome product...I love it and recommend it highly.

  3. Best yet!

  3. Best yet!

I just used my first patch so I haven't felt/tested the results yet. But, I am SO HAPPY to finally have an alternative to taking pills or eating fish. This is the answer to my prayers. Thank you so much!

  4. So much better than pills!

My memory and overall energy have definitely been improved since I started taking these; I feel more calm and less anxious too so I've been able to go off some of my medications which I'm so grateful for. A very good product and I'll be ordering more when my supply runs low. Thanks.

  6. Way better than pills

I hate taking fish oil pills everyday plus they`re so expensive; with the patches I only have to wear a patch 1 day a week, it so much simpler and cheaper and I feel great...glad I found these.

  7. Very effective patches

I tried these Omega 3 patches because I don't like taking fish oil pills which usually leave a bad taste in my mouth and I like the fact they're using Ubiquinol CoQ10 which is the active form...this has made a big difference for my health! PS...love the low prices you guys offer.

  8. Helps with pain in my knees
